Following its official launch, the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council convened partners from the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and ambassadors of Central Asian nations at a dinner held at the Uzbek Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Komil Allamjonov, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan and the Council's Special Envoy, thanked attendees for marking a historic milestone in bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of Administration of the President of Uzbekistan and Co-Chair of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council, met with U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to explore ways to elevate Uzbekistan's standing among international investors.

The two officials agreed to pursue new trade agreements aimed at deepening economic ties between Uzbekistan and the United States.

Ms. Mirziyoyeva also expressed gratitude to Mr. Greer for supporting Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts to accede to the World Trade Organization (WTO).

DFC to Support Uzbekistan’s Push to Attract American Investment

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Co-Chair of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council, met with Ben Black, Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), to discuss efforts to raise Uzbekistan's investment profile among American investors.

Following the meeting, Mirziyoyeva announced in an official statement that the DFC would support Uzbekistan in its drive to attract U.S. capital.

The two sides also agreed to launch a joint investment platform this year.

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio over the business breakfast to mark the official launch of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council.

The two officials exchanged views on the growing trade and investment portfolio between the two countries, underscoring the deepening economic relationship between Washington and Tashkent.

"I express my gratitude to the Secretary of U.S. Department of State for his role in advancement of our strategic partnership," wrote Ms. Mirziyoyeva in her official blog.

American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council Officially Launched in Washington, D.C.

On April 6, 2026, delegations from Uzbekistan and the United States convened in Washington, D.C. for the official launch of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council.

The event was co-chaired by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Ambassador Sergio Gore, U.S. Ambassador to India, marking a significant milestone in the deepening of trade and investment relations between the two nations.

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Mirziyoyeva described the Council as a dedicated platform designed to strengthen ties between entrepreneurs of both countries and to provide a solid institutional foundation for shared business ambitions.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Gore noted that over the past year, the United States has demonstrated in concrete terms its commitment to deepening its strategic partnership in Central Asia.

The launch was attended by the Council's Secretariat, including Mr. Komil Allamjonov, Advisor to the Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, who will serve as Special Envoy to the Council, and Ms. Nozima Davletova, Head of the Council's Secretariat. Members of the Council were also in attendance.

In Washington, D.C., Saida Mirziyoyeva and Sergio Gor discussed the upcoming launch of the Council

Co-Chairs Saida Mirziyoyeva and Sergio Gor, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the U.S. Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Ambassador respectively met in Washington D.C. ahead of the official launch of American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council.

"The newly established Council is poised to serve as an effective platform for strengthening commercial ties between Uzbekistan and the United States - an effort backed by the firm political will of both countries' presidents," commented Ms. Mirziyoyeva in her official blog.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Komil Allamjonov, Advisor to the Head of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, who will be serving as Special Envoy at the Council, Ms. Nozima Davletova, Head of Secretariat of the Council, and Mr. Furkat Siddikov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the United States.

Co-Chairs of the Council Saida Mirziyoyeva and Sergio Gor Held Meeting at Mar-a-Lago

The Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, and U.S. Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor - both serving as Co-Chairs of the American-Uzbek Business and Investment Council - met at Mar-a-Lago, the residence of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The meeting took place ahead of scheduled talks in Washington, D.C., where delegations from both countries are expected to discuss bilateral cooperation between the United States and Uzbekistan.

"It was a pleasure to meet with the Special Envoy of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia, Ambassador Sergio Gor, at Mar-a-Lago. I sincerely thank you for the warm hospitality and gracious welcome. I greatly appreciate the opportunity for a meaningful and constructive dialogue and look forward to productive meetings in Washington in the coming days," wrote Ms. Mirziyoyeva on her official blog.

Ambassador Gor also shared a comment on his X account:

"As President Trump's Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, it was an absolute pleasure to host Saida Mirziyoyeva, Uzbekistan's Head of Presidential Administration at Mar a Lago. Looking forward to productive meetings in Washington this week to increase cooperation between the U.S. and Uzbekistan!"

The meeting was also attended by Tiffany Trump and her husband, Michael Boulos.
